Problem

Neighbors today rarely communicate or even know each other. We wanted to build an app where people within the same zip code can communicate events, alerts, and postings relative to their neighborhood.

The Nextdoor app was out biggest influence during this project. We looked at the app’s functionality and user flow.

Action

I was responsible for designing the front end of the application and implementing Materialize along with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I did some work with the back end as well, which was built using Python, Django, and PostgresQL.

Result

Each page with posts has a floating button at the bottom left of the screen so that users can scroll through the page and post whenever they choose. The website is responsive and works well on mobile devices.
